This case is standard with the Hitachi P 20ST wood planer, but it is occasionally sold as a separate item. When the sold alone prices vary greatly. I purchased mine for less than $20. On the bottom of the case is a thin layer of foam for cushioning and a smaller layer on the inside of the cover. Both can be torn out, leaving an empty metal box about 14" long and nearly 8" on the sides.. The metal's gauge says light duty, with a metal handle, latch and piano hinge. The case doesn't allow.for the attachment of a lock. At the right price this case can be useful for holding different tools or household items. But in terms of construction, the case is nothing special.
