The case is lightweight and good quality but should be inside a hard case for shipping. A great way to carry kit from station to station in competition, especially if coupled with a cart.Bought this for use with a new target rifle. It fits the bill and I like the construction - seems pretty rugged and well stitched. The internal divider could be a bit more robust, but the extra high-density foam sheets help as they can be placed where you want them. A few additional pockets for magazines and misc. items would be nice as it would reduce the possibility of scratches and dings. I do like the fact that the velcro straps that are used to hold the rifle can be placed in about a zillion configurations. I can't decide if I want to keep the AR and its gear (plus a second upper) in it, or if I should use it for my long distance rifle. I'll probably buy a second one.This case is high quality and can easily hold two long rifles. The fabric is tough and the padding is solid enough that I'm not worried if I set my guns down on the ground a little rough (I wouldn't want to drop it from 6 ft up though- the padding isn't superpowered). The smaller accessory pocket on the size is velcro lined and comes with a pouch that holds 3 AR-15 mags. If you don't want the pouch you can just pull it outsince it's only velcroed in there. The main compartment is lined with nylon loops that you can use to strap your guns in with. The case comes with two velcro straps which is enough for one gun. If you want to carry two guns in this case I suggest getting more velcro straps so you can secure your guns better.This case fits inside a Pelican 1750 with no foam. It makes for an excellent way to be able to use a single Pelican case in several different configurations without having to cut custom foam for the Pelican case each time. Sometimes I carry an AR-15 and a bolt action rifle, sometimes I carry two AR-15s, sometimes I carry two shotguns. This case inside the Pelican means I can do all that without a bunch of hassle.Amazing quality case!! I actually purchased the 32" case to transport my Excalibur Matrix Crossbow and I am completely satisfied! By detaching the crossbow limb/prod assembly with the 2 bolts, I can strap the stock with scope attached in the bottom/lower compartment. The bow quiver mounting bracket does stick up, but the case still readily zips closed, saving me from removing it. And, there is still room for small accessories pouches. The padded divider allows me to strap the crossbow limb/prod assembly in the upper/top compartment and keep it safely padded and separated from the rest of the crossbow. The bow quiver, a hip quiver with extra arrows and additional gear easily fits in the outside pocket. There's even enough room for some lightweight camo clothes and small fanny pack. The entire case can be tossed in my SUV and by attaching the prod to the stock with 2 bolts, I'm ready to hunt/shoot. Everything on the case is heavy-duty: material, padding, velcro straps, zippers, etc. Exceptional case in every way!Excellent rifle case. There is enough room in the outside side compartment to hold my six 30 cal. mole magazine pouches, the carrying sling and a zipper pouch full of accessories. This case is very well padded. It can hold two rifles because of the removable padded patrician that will separate them.The structural integrity is superb. It came with one over the shoulder strap but it has the capability to be carried on your backside if you obtain a second shoulder strap. Galati has kept their quality up. I have two other Galati cases for the AR-15 and M1A rifles. They carry balanced. Years ago I heard that if you put the designated rifle a Galati case it was designed to float. I never tested that here-say.I ordered this Galati 42" Discreet Square Case to carry my new Remington 870 Marine Magnum shotgun. One of the reviews that I read said "Goodbye China". Unfortunately, the reviewer must have meant WELCOME CHINA as the case ins made in China...The case fits the 18" barrel, model 870 well but, because of the thick padding and the full length side compartment, it is very big and it takes a lot of room, especially on a mid-size sailboat. The third negative is that the padding cannot be removed to wash the bag thoroughly. This would be a problem in salt water. Otherwise, the bag is well made. I will return it as I have now found and ordered a similar case from TACTICAL TAILOR. Their case is slimmer, has removeable padding and is made in the USA. TACTICAL TAILOR Is a military supplier. All their products are made in Washington State. Their bag is only $20 more than the Chinese made Galati. I prefer to spend my money in the USA.I have now bought all the sizes of the GALATI GEAR DISCREET SQUARE CASE. I used to buy tactical rifle cases. And wrap them up in large garbage bags when going to my car. (Transporting my artillery to and from the range) I have nosy neighbors and they ask a lot of questions. Now with the GALATI GEAR DISCREET SQUARE CASE I tell them I'm going to a gig and I play keyboard. These cases are very well built. I have had no problems in the last three years of ownership. And will continue to buy. Later CHINAI searched the web for hours to find a case that had enough thickness to carry 2 of my rifles with the stocks folded. I can put two folded .308 rifles(with 20" barrels) in here easily and it's just the right length. This case is heavy duty and is also literally heavy for a nylon case. You can tell that this thing is constructed the right way. It's worth the $$$.
