Description
English dub, Japanese language, English subtitles, 1080p high definition, Region A disc. THE MASTERPIECE MIGHT BE A FORGERY BUT DETECTIVE CONAN IS THE REAL MCCOY! Van Gogh’s seven famous paintings of sunflowers are coming to Japan as part of a glitzy exhibit! The exhibitor? None other than Jirokichi Suzuki, of the powerful Suzuki Financial Group―and uncle to Sonoko Suzuki, good friend of Ran Mori and Shinichi Kudo, a.k.a. the noted pint-sized detective Conan Edogawa. But before the first painting reaches Japan, it’s snatched away―and possibly replaced?-- by one of Conan’s most famous adversaries, the dashing and debonair Kid the Phantom Thief! To safeguard the artwork, Suzuki’s enlisted the help of seven globe-trotting experts, including Detective Charlie, a hard-boiled NYC policeman prepared to take the Kid down--by any means necessary! Can Conan solve the mystery of Van Gogh’s Sunflowers painting before Detective Charlie comes gunning for the Kid the Phantom Thief?! Sunflowers of Inferno is the nineteenth film in the blockbuster Case Closed series. Based on Gosho Aoyama’s famous manga serial, these big-screen adventures follow the gifted teenaged detective Shinichi Kudo, trapped in a much younger body and forced to use his wits, colorful inventions, and the power of friendship to solve mysteries as Detective Conan. In this impressionistic thriller, Conan must contend with the possibility of a fake Van Gogh masterpiece ― and a fake Shinichi Kudo!

Love this show and wish i watched every episode when it originally aired on the Cartoon Network to support them. I own all the US released DVDs, and blu-rays. Anyways, I stumbled upon this movie on Amazon and purchased it immediately. I love Case Closed, and so thankful for the new dubb being released by Discotek. This one doesn't appear to have a physical release (yet), but i had to see the film. The Darkest Nightmare is actually one of my favorite films thus far outta the 4 released by Discotek. The Darkest Nightmare immediately kicks into high gear as soon as the film starts. I mean full on octane action. LOVEEE IT! If this were a live action film, the budget would be insane. EPIC car chase scene to start things off. The plot follows an agent (Curaco) of the Black Organization. I just love the character's name. Anyways, while on a mission, she gets caught, tries to escape, does escape, but loses her memory in the process from the impact of an explosion while landing in water. Yes, you guessed what happens next. Amnesia. Ya know, any movie where a person gets amnesia, especially a villain getting it, for some reason always makes for a good plot and entertaining film. This one doesn't disappoint. Conan encounters this agent while at the Aquarium and things start to slowly unravel. I won't give anything away because this one doesn't really have a BIG REVEAL. This film has a big emphasis on the theme of friendship, making the right choices along with good and evil. I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it a lot.My only complaint is the animation. This reminded me a lot of the movie, Zero the Enforcer. They must have used the same team because the animation is low grade. Not every scene, but it is noticeable. At times, it was actually more poorly animated than a TV show. I was in utter shock because this is a movie with a high budget. The characters already have interesting designs with long limbs, odd shaped faces, and noses. I am not sure if the animators had issues capturing the essence of the character designs, but whatever struggle they encountered - it is hardcore noticeable in this movie. There is one action sequence on a ferris wheel with 2 guys fighting and it is worse than an anime show from the 1970s. Just sloppy with a capital S.Aside from that gripe, i loved this movie. So glad there wasn't a true big reveal because those Japanese names throw me off where i can't enjoy the big REVEAL. I always get confused and wonder if they were referring to a street name, town name, or building name. It is so much easier just to name the characters Jimmy, Rachel, or Becky and Jim. Anyways, support this movie. We need more Case Closed in English. Discotek, if you are reading this, please dubb and release all the TV show episodes starting with where Funimation left off. I'll buy all of it. They can have all my hard earned dollars. Support them!
